I wanted to include some of the ‘ones that got away’ (additional) on the site, because I can. The project exists as a website because I’ve not had a positive response from a publisher, but also because I’ve learnt from other Net based projects that this is a very powerful distribution network, probably more so than publishing in terms of finding an audience. I am pragmatic about the appearance of the images on screen as I’ve had years of compromise working in the editorial system. Ideally the images exist as non editioned, 12”x10”, resin coated, hand prints framed/displayed as preferred by their owner/curator. I happen to like them in slim black frames with a white water colour mount. I like it when images circulate through different media. Some of these images have already appeared in magazines and on record sleeves as well as in exhibition, book and on the walls of friends’ homes.

The title was suggested by a fellow traveller I met by chance when sharing a taxi to Cochiquaz in Chile. I was explaining the project and that it didn’t have a title. He looked around the cab and suggested the name of the air freshener dangling from the rear view mirror. It stuck.
